Adam T was 30, born 8 Sept 1870 in urban Ontario, of Scotch origin, religion Church of England, and working on his own account in a hardware store. Madeline was 26, born 17 Nov 1874 in urban Ontario, Scotch origin, Church of England. They were lodgers in a seven room brick house and had a 9 month old son, Robert M.3 
1906 CensusAdam T and Madeline Linton appeared on the 1906 Census of Calgary, Alberta, at 632 8th Avenue, enumerated 29 Jun 1906. Adam was 36, Madeline 30, Robt M 6, Courtland 4 and Dorothy N was one year old. All but Dorothy were born in Ontario. The family had one female servant.4

Madeline was 35, born in Nov 1875 or 76 in Ontario, of English origin, and Anglican. Their children were Robert (10), Courtland (8), Dorthy (6), and Basil (1). Also in the household were a Scottish domestic and a gardener.5 
1916 CensusAdam and Madeline Linton appeared on the 1916 Census of Calgary, Alberta, enumerated 1 Jun 1916. At the time of the census, Adam was serving in the military at Sarcee Camp. He was recorded as age 44, born in Ontario, and a retired hardware merchant. Madeline was 38 and born in Ontario. Their children were Robert (16, Ontario), Courtlandt (13, Ontario), Dorothy (11, Alberta), and Basil (6, Alberta). The family was Anglican and all the children attended school.6 
1921 CensusAdam Thomas and Madeline appeared on the 1921 Census of Calgary, Alberta, at Corner of Cliffe Street & Royal Avenue. They owned their 14 room stone and wood house. [This was large]. The family was Anglican.
Adam was 52, born in Ontario, father born in Scotland, mother in England. He was a merchant working on his own account in retail hardware. Madeline was 43, born in Ontario, father born in Ontario, mother in USA.
Their children were Robert (20, accountant), Courtland (18, accountant), Dorothy (16), and Basil (11). The two youngest children were born in Alberta. Also there was a niece, May McCartney (age 19, birthplace Quebec.)7 
DeathMadeline died on 8 Feb 1945 in Campbellford, Northumberland County, Ontario.2
 
BurialShe was memorialized on the Linton gravestone in Anglican Cemetery, Campbellford, Northumberland County, Ontario. The inscription is on a headstone with her husband and inlaws.8
