Newspaper Published 25 Jan 1928 in the Big Valley Journal.

A pleasing incident took place at the curlers' dance last Friday evening, when R M Linton, who left this week for Ferintosh, was presented with a hand-some gold watch from the citizens of Big Valley. The presentation was made by Miss Ruby Hanna, president of the Ladies' Curling Club, while Mrs. Charles Kelly made a very neat speech appropriate to the occasion.
Mr Linton was taken completely by surprise. He expressed his appreciation of the splendid gift and also stated the pleasure it had been to give his time and musical ability when required and would be glad to render assistance in the future if it could be arranged. Mr Linton will be greatly missed from Big Valley as he was one of the orchestra, organist at United Church, a member of the vestry of St. Edmund's Church and a member of the Elks' Lodge.8
