Witnesses were [Blanche's brother] J.F. Linton of Campbellford and Lilian Mills of Belleville; bride and groom were both Anglican.1 
1911 CensusWilliam H and Blanch appeared on the 1911 Census of Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario, at 66 Earl Street. William H was 44, born in Oct 1866 in England, immigrated in 1896, of English origins, Anglican, and was a teacher at Regiopolis [a Kingston Catholic high school] paid $1000 for 40 weeks at 30 hours/wk. He also had $2000 of life insurance, costing $62.08. Blanch was 34, born in Mar 1877 in Ontario, and Anglican. Their son Linton N (3) was with them as well as William's mother Mary and daughter Beatrice M (14, birthplace Ontario.)3 
Research Note Mary Beatrice Gill, age 21, was married in 1918 to Andrew James Tripp. Noell and Blanche were witnesses. Blanche was recorded as her mother, although was actually her stepmother. 
1921 CensusNoell and Blanche appeared on the 1921 Census of Kingston, Ontario, at 8 Aberdeen Street. They owned their brick house and the family was Anglican. Noell was 55, born in England, immigrated in 1896, spoke English and French, and was employed as a High School Teacher, earning $1500. Blanche was 44, born in Ontario, father born in Scotland, mother in England.
With them was their son Linton (13) and a lodger (Muriel Neale, 25.)4 
1930 CensusNoell and Blanche S appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia, at Swavely School. Noell was a teacher at the private school, age 57, first married at 30, born in England. Blanche was 47, first married at 20, born in Canada, father born in Scotland, mother in England. They immigrated in 1926 and had alien status.5 
1940 CensusNoell and Blanche S Gill appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia, at 209 West Street. There were two couples at this address. The Gills paid $28 per month in rent. In 1935, they lived in Manassas but not at this address. Noell was 71, birthplace England, had 5 years of college education. He worked 30 hours the previous week as a school teacher at a private school. The previous year he worked 38 weeks for $1300. Blanche was 64, birthplace English Canada, and had 4 years of high school.6 
DeathNoell died on 4 Aug 1940 in Havelock, Ontario.
Information from the vice-consul's report: Noell Gill, naturalized - presumed, died 4 August 1940 at Havelock, Ontario, Canada, age 73 years 9 months, buried at Campbellford, disposition of effects unknown. Known addresses of relatives were:

Mrs Eunice N Gill, daughter-in-law, Barrie Ontario
Notification of the death was sent by the US consulate to Mrs B.S.L. Gill by mail on December 4th.7 
ObituaryHis obituary was published on 7 Aug 1940 in the Montreal Gazette.

PROFESSOR GILL BURIED
Washington Teacher Died at Campbellford, Ont.
Campbellford, Ont., August 5 - CP - Funeral service for Prof W H Noell Gill, professor of languages at Woodward school, Washington, who died at Havelock hospital Sunday after a brief illness, was held today. The 73-year-old professor was holidaying at his summer home at nearby Trent Bridge where he had spent his vacations for the past 30 years when he was taken ill.
Interment was made in Christ Church cemetery here.
Prior to taking the position at Woodward school, Prof Gill had taught at many schools throughout Canada and the United States. Among these were Regiopolis College, Kingston, Ont., Trinity College School, Port Hope, Ont., and Swavely School, Manassas, Va.
He is survived by his widow, the former Blanche Linton of Campbellford, and one son, Linton Gill, an instructor at the Royal Canadian Air Force training station at Camp Borden.8
 
BurialNoell and Blanche were buried in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery in Campbellford.9
