Willis was 26, born 30 Oct 1874 in Ontario, of English origin, Methodist, a Farmer working on own account. Jennie was 26, born 15 Feb 1875 in England, and was Methodist. Their children were Raymond (3, born US) and Randall (2, Ontario). Also there was one farm laborer.4 |
Death | Willis died on 31 Jan 1907 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Details from death certificate: Mr Willis Oliver, usual address 524 Boker St, age 31, born Oct 30 [year blank] in Canada, married, father Wm Oliver born England, mother Elthan Roblin born Canada, occupation laborer. He was in City Hospital 8 days and the cause of death acute lobar pneumonia. He was removed to Marmora Canada, date of burial 19 Feb 1907. The informant on the death registration was "hospital records."5 |
Research Note | His wife Jennie remarried in Ontario late in 1907 and died the following year. In the 1911 census, their son Raymond was with Willis' brother Thomas. Daughter Gladys was with Willis' parents. Daughter Josephine was with McMaster cousins. Raymond gave his sister Gladys' name as next-of-kin when he signed up for WW1. |
