1871 CensusEmily Speechley and Thomas John Fernee appeared on the 1871 Census of Ealing, Middlesex, at 14 Denmark Villas. Thomas was 31, a Railway Clerk, and born in London. Emily was 25 and born in London.3 
(Widowed) Burial.Her husband Thomas died in 1872.4 
1881 CensusEmily Fernee appeared on the 1881 Census of Ealing, Middlesex, at Medina Villa, Drayton Green Lane, enumerated 3 Apr 1881. Emily was a widow, age 33, a Schoolmistress, and born in Marylebone, Middlesex. Her daughter Emily Harriet was listed as living with her, as well as 5 female boarders between the ages of 8 and 15.2 
1891 CensusEmily Speechley and Emily Harriet Fernee appeared on the 1891 Census of Ealing, Middlesex, at 10 Drayton Green Road. Mother and daughter Emily and Emily Harriet Fernee were with Emily's widowed mother Mary Ann Speechley. Emily was 45, widowed, a governess and employer, and was born in Islington. Emily Harriet was 16, employed as a pupil teacher, and was born in Ealing.5 
1901 CensusMother and daughter Emily and Daisy [sic] Fernee appeared on the 1901 Census of Ealing, Middlesex, at 10 Drayton Green Road. They were with Emily's widowed mother Mary Ann Speechley. Emily was 53, widowed, and was born in London. Daisy was 28, single, and born in Ealing. They, and Emily's sister Elizabeth A Speechley were governesses working on their own account. They had 5 girls between the ages of 8 and 14 boarding with them (the 14 year old was Flossie Fernee, born in Southall, Middlesex - not sure who this is.)6 
(Witness) Marriage Emily Fernee witnessed the marriage of Herbert Hills to her daughter Emily Harriet on 18 Nov 1908 in St John Ealing, Middlesex.7
