Information from the register: Moses Corner & Ann Stocker, both of this parish, married by banns. Moses signed with an X; Ann wrote her name. The witnesses were Joseph Stocker and Charles Francis.2 
1851 CensusMoses and Ann Corner appeared on the 1851 Census of Broadclyst, Devon, at Side. Moses was 43, a Road Contractor employing 3 men and one boy, born in Culmstock. Ann was 38, born in Broadclist. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (11). Also in the household were their nephew John Pearce (16, road laborer) and two road laborer servants. [John's mother Elizabeth was Ann's sister]3 
DeathAnn died in 1876.4
 
Research Note Moses Corner, yeoman, widower, married Maria Hewish, widow, in 1876 in BroadClyst. Moses signed his name in a primitive hand.
