1850 Census | Stephen and Bridget Quinn appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Bordentown, Burlington County, New Jersey, enumerated 25 Jul 1850. Stephen was 29, a Brakeman, and was born in Ireland. Bridget was 26 and born in Ireland. Their baby Eliza was 3 months old and born in New Jersey.4  |
1860 Census | Stephen and Bridget Quinn appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, enumerated 29 Jun 1860. Stephen was 43, a Railroad Striker born in Ireland, who had $150 of real estate and $25 of personal estate. Bridget was 40 and born in Ireland. With them were children Eliza (10), John (9), James (8), Mary (7), Sarah (6), Malissa (5) all born in New Jersey, and Joseph (1) who was born in Michigan.5  |

1870 Census | Stephen and Barbary Quin [sic] appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Adrian, enumerated 13 Jun 1870. Stephen was 44, worked as a Helper in a Blacksmith Shop, owned real estate worth $400 [this is low], was born in Ireland, and was a U.S. citizen. Barbary [sic] was 49, keeping house, and was born in Ireland. With them were John (18), Sarah (16), Maggie (14), Mary (18), and Eliza (19). John worked, Mary and Eliza were domestic servants, and all except Eliza had attended school during the year.2  |
1880 Census | Stephen and Bridget Quinn appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of 91 Frank Street, Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, enumerated 9 Jun 1880. Stephen was 52, occupation Blacksmith. Bridget was 62 and house keeping. Both were born in Ireland, as were their parents and neither could read or write. With them was their daughter Maggie and her husband James Carey, who had been married that year. Nearby at 85 Frank Street was their daughter Sarah Loughling [sic, should be McLoughlin] and her family.6  |
