Research Note Elizabeth Blanche's father apparently died when she was a small child and her mother remarried. Three of her siblings were with her mother in the 1891 census and her brother Herbert Stanley (Albert) was a Home Child in Canada. Elizabeth has not yet been found between the 1881 census and her marriage in 1915 in Detroit. Was she also a Home Child? 
(Mentioned) Passenger ListBlanche Chitty was mentioned on a passenger manifest for Vernon Chitty when he crossed into the U.S. at Detroit after landing in Halifax on the SS Corsican from England on 11 Feb 1911. She was recorded as his wife, c/o H Ayers, 103 East Hill, Wandsworth, London SW.4

They were married by Presbyterian minister Arthur M Stevenson and the witnesses were Mrs James Adams and B.A. Bock, both of Detroit.2 
Research Note From her marriage on, Blanche underreported her age! 
Passenger ListElizabeth Blanche Chitty was listed on a manifest dated 17 Oct 1919 for the SS Adriatic, arriving in New York from Southampton. The passenger list showed that Blanche was 36, married, no occupation, English, last permanent residence London, contact there friend Mrs Jackson, 62 Conigar Rd, Fulham, London, and her final destination was Detroit, Michigan.5 
1920 CensusVernon and Blanche Chelty appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, at 1142 Fourth. Vernon was 36, immigrated in 1906, naturalized in 1915, was born in England, and was an accountant in an office. Blanche was 35, immigrated in 1906, born in England, and her parents were born in England.6 
Passenger ListShe was listed on a manifest dated 5 Nov 1928 for the SS Baltic, arriving in New York from Liverpool. She was 44, a housewife, born in Windsor England, had an immigration visa issued in Washington dated 5 May 1928, and she was travelling to Detroit.7 
1930 CensusVernon and Blanch Chitty appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, at 3772 Rochester Avenue. Three small families lived at this address and they each paid $55 in monthly rent. They were both 44, first married at age 30, born in England, parents born in England, and they had a radio. Vernon immigrated in 1906, was not a veteran, and was an accountant at an auto factory. Blanche immigrated in 1904 and did not work.8
