Stanley C was 24, a Clerk for Queens Anne's bounty (a fund to augment the poorer clergy), and was born in Paddington. Ada was 29 and born in St Marylebone.6 
1891 CensusStanley Edward Eicke Fernee and Ada King appeared on the 1891 Census of Ealing, Middlesex, at No 3, The Avenue. Stanley E E was 34, a Decorative Artist (Sculp), employer, and was born in Paddington, London. Ada was 38 and born in Marylebone, London. Their children Herbert Stanley, Dorothy Jennette, Violet Lilian Ada, Ethel Grace Mary and Marguerite Evelyn were with them, as well as mother-in-law Sarah A King and a domestic servant (nurse.)7 
1901 CensusStanley Edward Eicke Fernee and Ada King appeared on the 1901 Census of Swindon, Wiltshire, at 54 Victoria Street. Stanley E was 44, a Commercial Traveller, and was born in Paddn, London. Ada was 44, a Fancy Dealer Shop keeper working on her own account at home, and was born in Paddn, London. Their children Dorothy Jennette, Violet Lilian Ada, Ethel Grace Mary, Marguerite Evelyn and Edward Eicke were living with them.8
