1861 CensusJoseph Ainsworth Fernee and Sophia Powell appeared on the 1861 Census of Hornsey, Middlesex, at 4 Prospect Terrace, Hamlet of Highgate. Joseph was 57, a Labourer, and born in Highgate. Sophia was 57, an Upholstress, and born in Codicote, Hertfordshire. They are lodgers at this address.7

1871 CensusJoseph Ainsworth Fernee appeared on the 1871 Census of Hornsey, Middlesex, at Ivy Cottage, Highgate. He was recorded as Joseph Farmer, lodger, widower, age 68, laborer, born Highgate, and was lodging with James and Maria Freeland. This may or may not be Joseph Fernee.10
